Drake Debuts “Wu-Tang Forever”

The world has just over a week to wait until Drake’s long-awaited new album Nothing Was The Same hits stores, but tonight a new song found its way online and we’re hosting the stream right here on UTG.

The preorder for Nothing Was The Same hit iTunes this afternoon, and anyone willing to hand over $10 in advance of the album’s release will gain early access to a new track entitled “Wu-Tang Forever.” The song features a simple drum-and-piano beat sprinkled with classic hip-hop samples, which Drake uses as a platform to showcase what is essentially his entire delivery pallet. He croons about feelings, raps about the past, and even lets his aggression show while promising to “Fuck you so good.” It’s the kind of buffet track that Drake built his brand on, only now it’s coming from a viewpoint earlier records could never imagine. You can stream the song below.

Of all the material that surfaced off Nothing Was The Same thus far, “Wu-Tang Forever” is without a doubt the most ‘down the middle’ of the bunch. It’s a song Drake addicts will instantly cling to and could probably be used as a future single if this whole ‘show them another side’ angle Drake is currently using with “Hold On We’re Going Home” doesn’t pay off.

Nothing Was The Same hits stores September 24. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on Drake’s latest.

I am all about this song. It’s the track people were expecting in February, and it makes me ridiculously excited for the album.
