Required Listening: Flatbush Zombies Featuring Danny Brown – “Drug Parade”

Brooklyn’s Flatbush Zombies are making waves online today with the release of their long-awaited mixtape, Better Off Dead. The release features over a dozen never-before-heard songs, but surprisingly contains only two guest features. Of those, one has quickly risen to the top of digital urban scene as a ‘need to know’ track, and we’re here to share the goods with you.

Boasting some of the most ferocious production found on any rap release in 2013, Better Off Dead is an enthralling through the world of Flatbush Zombies. Their love of dark themes is only matched by their love of narcotics, and on track fourteen of their latest release those two worlds collide thanks to a wild song titled “Drug Parade.” Danny Brown guests, and as you can probably imagine the lyrics (including the hook) celebrate drug culture in ways only Flatbush and Brown can deliver. It’s aggressive, yet fun, and will certainly irritate conservative parents to no end. You can stream and download the track below.

Our love affair with Detroit native Danny Brown has well been documented, but it bares repeating that his debut album, Old, hits stores September 30. You can view a video for his new single “ODB” on the right rail of this website under the ‘featured video’ heading.

Better Off Dead is the must-download album of the week. If you have somehow slept on it until now, click here and discover what you have been missing.

Production is okay but this song is terrible. Obnoxious and repetitive even for less than 3 minutes. Also, if you’re proud and boasting that you’re burning off brain cells, you’re pretty fucking stupid.
