“Even though I can smell death, I take steps to avoid it.” Mark the words of Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter.
This July, Chimaira released their seventh studio album, entitled Crown of Phantoms. It had been two years since the band’s last release and featured an entirely different lineup than previous records.
Currently, Chimaira only features one original member, Hunter, who while “facing death” always kept pushing. Despite the obstacles that appeared to be in his way, the band put out a record they are thrilled with as well as the fans attending their shows.
The band just wrapped up a nationwide tour with Threat Signal, The Browning and Dark Sermon. To read UTG’s recent interview with The Browning, click here.
On August 21 Under The Gun TV caught up with Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter downstairs at the Gramercy Theatre in New York CIty where we discussed the new record, tattoos, music journalism and even the Wu-Tang Clan. Check out below the jump to watch the UTG exclusive interview.
