I think it’s safe to say Justin Bieber has just pissed off more nerds with a single photo than anyone else in recorded history.

Taking to his Instagram account last night, Justin Bieber posted a photo of himself holding a script for a film titled Batman Vs Superman. Printed diagonally across the page as a gigantic watermark is the name Bieber, which has lead many to believe the “Baby” hitmaker may be preparing to appear alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the upcoming Zach Snyder directed sequel to Man Of Steel. Rumors began to spread, but at the time of this post no further information has been made available.

Comic fans have already begun crying foul online, but The Hollywood Reporter believe Bieber may be trying to pull a fast one on us all. Justin was apparently filming segments with comedy website Funny Or Die this past week, so they hypothesize that the ‘script’ may actually be a prop from an upcoming sketch. It looks pretty legit to us, but one doesn’t have to think all that hard to imagine the hilarious possibilities of a Funny Or Die sketch starring Bieber as the caped crusader.

There are two interesting things about the image posted by Bieber that have absolutely nothing to do with the singer’s potential appearance in the movie itself. The title Superman Vs. Batman, for starters, has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. Also, a footnote at the bottom says the script is based on Batman: The Dark Knight Falls – the fourth issue of Frank Miller’s 1986 classic The Dark Knight Returns comic book series. That’s the same book referenced during the film’s announcement at Comic-Con San Diego, but Snyder said at that time the film would not be a direct adaptation of the beloved comic series.

This probably goes without saying, but I cannot imagine a place for Bieber in the DC Universe without his appearance coming across as a tacky marketing move to attract a younger female demographic.
