‘Insidious: Chapter 2’ Dominates Box Office Through Friday The 13th Weekend

The competition didn’t even come close to Insidious: Chapter 2 this past weekend. Over the course of three days, the James Wan produced blockbuster horror flick has raked in over 40 million off of domestic earnings alone, making it three times more successful than the original, which had a 13 million dollar reception on its opening weekend in 2011. Far behind it came The Family, which pulled in a modest 14 million. On the other hand, Riddick, last weekend’s top film, took a 63% dip from its previous earnings by only earning 7 million this week.
