‘Beverly Hills Cop IV’ Might Snag Original Producer

The fourth installment of Eddie Murphy’s second largest franchise after Shrek, Beverly Hills Cop, might do okay if they land original producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Bruckheimer worked on the first and second, but ducked out of 1994’s Beverly Hills Cop III. Does that have anything to do with it being the least successful? Who knows, but it’s a fact the third one had the largest budget, and didn’t do as great as the other two at the box office.

Can the man who went on to produce the Pirates of the Caribbean movies save Murphy almost 20 years after the last Cop failed, we hope so since he passed on reuniting for the TV series that was supposed to happen.

Remember that, yeah, we’d like to forget too. A Beverly Hills Cop show was in the works, but it failed to get picked up by a network. Murphy was only going to make a cameo though, as it was based on his character’s son.

As far as the movie goes, there’s no director set in stone but Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec have been given the go to write the script.
