Moving Mountains To Do Three Shows Then Go On Hiatus

Moving Mountains are the next in a long line of DIY bands who have been poised to take off and then go on hiatus immediately after an album. While they haven’t themselves called it a hiatus, they have said that these three shows will be the last of the band for the “foreseeable future.” By definition, that is a hiatus. Whether they’ll reunite someday in another form, we don’t know.

The band will do three shows first in the early days of November:

November 1 at The Space in Hamden, CT
November 2 at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY
November 3 at Great Scott in Boston, MA

They posted a message on their Facebook that appears to confirm all the members will be working on other projects, but Moving Mountains as we know it may be gone. To read the message, click “Read more.”

We’re happy to announce that we’ll be playing three shows this fall in support of our new record with our friends in Caravela, This Old Ghost, and Field Mouse. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday at 12PM EDT.

These will likely to be the last Moving Mountains shows for the foreseeable future. Over the years, we’ve been insanely fortunate enough to have the support of such a tight knit fanbase, and we can’t thank you enough for providing an outlet for the music we’ve created. We’re all planning to pursue other artistic endeavors and look forward to sharing those with you. Thank you for sharing our music, and sharing this entire experience with us. See you this fall.
