The iHeartRadio music festival was held this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it was chock full of huge artists including Fun., Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake and more. Fans and critics alike have been waiting to see one performance in particular: Queen, fronted by Adam Lambert. With the announcement of Adam filling the role of the late Freddie Mercury, he has faced backlash from some fans who thing he’s not up to par. Queen + Adam’s performance at the iHeartRadio festival is their debut performance in the US and we have some videos of Adam doing an exemplary job as frontman.
During their set, one of the performers of the night, Fun., also hopped up on stage to sing along with the group. He was up on stage for “Fat Bottomed Girls” and “Somebody To Love.” You can watch both of the songs by taking a look below the jump.
For those of you who listened to the festival or were there, what was your favorite performance? Let us know!

It’s obvious you were neither at the concert or bothered to view the videos, because Adam did not just hop on stage to sing “Fat Bottom Girls”, he happened to be the lead singer for Queen. Nate was a special guest who did a duet with Adam on “Fat Bottom Girls” and solo on “Somebody to Love”. Adam also did a medley of several songs plus “Who Wants to Live forever, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions”! So give Adam the credit he deserves for the full set he sang rather than the “he hopped on the stage” bit!!!
I have to echo what ‘cooks’ said: Kriston, it seems like you weren’t even there, and maybe you weren’t — or maybe you just didn’t communicate things properly. Queen + Adam Lambert is who performed at iHeart (yes, written just that way with the + sign) and it’s been promoted this way for months. Adam sang most of the songs and it was more like Nate & fun. ‘hopped onstage’ rather than Adam because they only did one of the 10(?) songs without him. The problem with promoting the concert as Queen + Adam Lambert and then having fun. be announced at the last minute and come onstage for two songs is that some columnists, as you, good writer that you are, take that ball and run with it and just focus on Nate and fun. as if that was the big deal, when the history made here was with Adam fronting Queen. Oddly enough, another columnist who wrote their story with a similar slant happened to also be Vegas-based, although his name escape me now, whereas all of the major media including Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and many others fortunately DID focus on Queen’s history-making moment with Adam, rather than on fun., as good as they were, and that’s the way it should be.
I’m happy to make a change to the verbiage to emphasize more that it was Adam Lambert who was fronting Queen and that Fun. were the ones who “hopped” on stage. Obviously I wasn’t there otherwise I would have said so, and from what I was reading online I was under the impression that he just tagged along otherwise I would have definitely written it differently. I’ll get it changed here in a few, thanks for pointing out my mistake.
It’s been updated! Hopefully it looks a little bit more accurate this time around.
Thanks, Kriston — great update! :)
I Love adam lambert sings” we will rock you and who wants to live forever “very very much.i always love adam’s talent perform with band queen. When i watched adam with queen at iheart radio,i think no one can do like adam lambert,he does perfectly .
I’ve been loving adam perform with queen. I love his voice very much, his clothes very beautiful . I saw him sing at i heart radio, when he was dancing really sexy ;)
Thank you for correcting the article but I’m a bit confused here, you wrote a review for a show you never saw, not even on video, just by reading other peoples articles? How does that work?
I only cared about watching Adam Lambert and Queen. No one can sing and perform like this guy. Yet most of the people probably were there for the other performers. I’m sure they were amazed by this very small sampling of what Adam can do. He is still the best “live” performer I’ve seen and I’ve seen concerts for 40 years.
Yes thanks Kristin. I’m just glad to see articles on Adam and Queen. I’ve seen enough of Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry (who as a little flat) and the rest. Adam deserves more exposure. I will always be a fan of his.
Were their other performances besides Adam Lambert and Queen? :) He has a one of a kind voice.
Were there other performances besides Adam Lambert and Queen? :) Lambert has a one of a kind voice. Epic performance
This isn’t a review, it’s just a news posting. I don’t usually do live reviews, and any time we do we’re always at the show. Most of the articles I write are just news bites or album reviews. Sometimes the occasional interview, but I haven’t done a live review yet.
He’s a great singer, and has such an awesome stage presence!
This should have been posted too

I hope to see him live some day, he seems like he has great charisma.
Yeah as much as I like some of those musicians, I really love giving exposure to musicians/bands who don’t get enough appreciation. That’s why I’m glad our readers correct us when we make a mistake, and that they appreciate us covering acts that other news sites aren’t covering as well.
WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER- WAS INCREDIBLE!!! post that one please. best vocals ever by the amazing Adam Lambert.
my friends were there bcause of Mr.Lambert
I went back and read the article I think you misread what writer said. Go back and read it again. It said Nate hopped up on the stage also, meaning he joined Adam and Queen on stage.
You should do some live reviews too bad they didn’t have you at this one. Adam and Queen were incredible live. Best act of both nights. Queen stood out in the mist of so many pop acts. Queen with Adam made history Friday. I was there. thanks
Yes this was a radio sponsored show with a zillion pop acts and singers you hear every hour of every day on the radio. It was refreshing to see Queen with Adam who stood out from the other acts. Queen closed the show.
Do you have a link to the Washington Post article about Adam and Queen? I’ve from DC and haven’t seen it in Vegas where I live now. thanks
I”m sad I didn’t see it. It sucks that I would have had to go to Vegas and pay to have to see all the other groups there that I’m not as interested in though.
I did not misread the article. If you read the comments above you will she that Kriston went back and changed some of it’s contents. It did originally read that Adam hopped on the stage to sing with Nate and Queen.
I was not interested in any of the other artists. I sat through 5 hours just to see Adam sing for less than half an hour. I saw them in London and told myself I wouldn’t miss it if they ever performed in the US. At least I was able to pay face value for the tickets. I would not have paid scalper prices.
Hi Sherry! Here it is — after you read the intro be sure to continue down the article til you get to where it says “Lambert Ready for the Throne”…..

Also, if you are a fan of Adam, there is an excellent ‘all Adam all the time’ news blog — Adam Lambert 24/7 News — here:

My favorite song of the set was Adam Lambert’s INCREDIBLE version of “Who Wants To Live Forever”. I wish you had included a video of that here or at least one of the other amazing numbers performed by Queen + Adam Lambert. They were the real headliners of the set. “Fun” was exactly that, fun for the brief period they were on stage, but the majority of the set was just Queen + Adam Lambert and they delivered BIG TIME. “Fun” certainly deserves a mention here but to focus an article on them, why not just review their own set that took place earlier in the night.
You have a good point there, in all the articles that made a big thing of Fun performing with Queen and Adam, sometimes minimising Adams performance, very few of them say anything about Funs actual set earlier on in the evening. It’s a very curious way to report on an event and I can’t see how it benefits any of the acts in the long run. All it does it focus on the novelty without reporting the substance.
Elton John and Muse were there also, so they would have been worth seeing, but I know what you mean by most of the other performers not being up to Queen and Adams standard, I’m completely befuddled how most of them get any fans at all, particularly Chris Brown. Why anyone would want to be his fan I just don’t understand. It has to be to do with exposure, most people can’t be bothered to look beyond what they are spoon fed.
He is one of those people who you can’t take your eyes off. It’s like light shining out of him.
Ugh don’t even get me started on Chris Brown! Someone needs to hit him in the face!
