One of modern day’s most gifted redheads has just shared a new single and it’s more upbeat than you may imagine. Brooklyn songwriter Kevin Devine has released a new song from Bubblegum called “Bloodhound.” Stream it below after the jump.

“Bloodhound” is, I’ll admit, not his most complicated songwriting. Known for some seriously articulate lyrics and hidden guitar work, Devine is upping the volume on the new track, bringing in additional electric guitars for a pretty sweet guitar solo towards the end of an already poppy rock song. It moves along quickly–clocking in just around two minutes–but keeps things moving quickly all throughout.

Bubblegum and additional album Bulldozer are scheduled to be released later this year. For now, stream “Bloodhound” off the prior album below:
