This week, Angie puts a spotlight on Killer Beaz’s comedy career. If you or your comedy troupe would like to be featured on Stand-Up Tuesdays, please email utgjames@gmail.com.

This week in Stand Up Tuesdays, we take a look at the new CD from comedian Killer Beaz, Don’t Ever Touch Anyone You Don’t Know, which was released last week via Jack/Warner Bros./Loud Mouth Records and is a high-energy and fun comedy romp.

Beaz, who resides in Mobile, Alabama, brings to the stage that deep-south charm and redneck appeal that has made him a favorite nationwide. While his material largely plays upon the nuances of being from the deep south, Beaz’s style goes far beyond your Larry the Cable Guy type of humor in a way that makes him utter relatable for just about anyone. Riffing on texting and driving, parenting a teenager and wanting to mess with people via the OnStar system, Beaz isn’t limiting himself to being a true ‘redneck comic’ and instead flexes his comedic muscle in creative and clever ways.

“Subdivisions have fancy names,” Beaz quips. “Eagle’s Landing, Hound’s Run…ours is called Falling Values.”

A relatively clean comic, Beaz is, naturally, able to riff on his southern roots in an equally delightful manner.

“We had to study up for the Alabama written exam,” Beaz states, describing his son getting his driver’s license. “It’s in crayon now.”

After initially being drawn to perform in front of audiences as a lead guitar player in his home state of Mississippi, Beaz was given his stage name when an enthusiastic audience member screamed out after a guitar solo, “That was killer, Beaz!” He’s been performing under the name ever since. He’s also made numerous appearances on Showtime, Entertainment Tonight, Comedy Central, E!, A&E, CNN, ESPN, CMT, GAC and radio shows like Bob & Tom, John Boy & Billy, Rick & Bubba, Bob & Sherry, WTF with Marc Maron and XM Radio.

Killer Beaz presents a highly entertaining hour of comedy in Don’t Ever Touch Anyone You Don’t Know that will undoubtedly put a smile on your face. In fact, as a born Masshole, I’m going to go as far as to say that listening to Don’t Ever Touch Anyone You Don’t Know in your car is the perfect road-rage repellant. It’s really tough to hate people when you’re having that much fun. Grab your copy today at Amazon.com.
