Does it really come as a surprise that Alfonso Cuarón’s visually stunning Gravity has nearly pulled in as many dollars as the rest of this weekend’s top-selling movies combined? Sure, having George Clooney and Sandra Bullock on board is a plus, but critics aren’t lying about this film and the numbers support that. Right behind it lies Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, which is still boasting a strong performance on the charts with over 20 million made on its second weekend. Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake’s Crime Thriller Runner Runner did make its debut in third, albeit with sales only reaching seven digits.
