Lock up your daughters and younger sisters because Bieber is back and smoother than ever before.

Justin Bieber has spent the majority of 2013 talking about a song called “Heartbreaker” that he supposedly recorded sometime around the beginning of the year. Last night, Biebs decided it was time to share that single with the world, and this morning he’s once again the focus of every discussion in the pop music community.

The progression of Justin Bieber up to this point has been from squeaky-clean kid to a young man with more ego than he knows what to do with. On “Heartbreaker,” Justin attempts to channel the cockiness of his 2012 album into something more mature by adding a heavy dose of RnB influence into his music. This helps create a sense of sensuality that has not been present on Bieber’s earlier releases, but I am still not sold on him being a mature male desperately pleading with an ex-lover to give him another chance. As far as we know Justin Bieber does not currently have any plans to release a new album. That said, it stands to reason that the debut of “Heartbreaker” is one piece in a larger promotional effort.
