She’s Back: Paris Hilton Just Wants To Have A “Good Time” (With A Little Help From Lil Wayne)

Around 2006/2007, Paris Hilton was as ever-present in the world of pop culture as the Kardashian clan is today. Having found success in reality television and adult film, someone handling the heiress agreed with her notion that a career in pop music would be the next best move. She released a single that no one cared for, followed by an album that tanked almost as hard as Kevin Federline’s debut, and a short time after disappeared from the spotlight. She later in the world of EDM, which seemed more fitting as it involved mindless button pushing instead of actual vocal talent, but she’s now ready for a second go at top 40 and we have the single to prove it.

Hitting the net over the last day like a wall of cookie-cutter ideas, “Good Time” is Paris Hilton’s latest attempt at making a splash on US radio waves. The song features Lil Wayne, who actually signed Paris Hilton to his Young Money label in early 2013, but even the presence of one of hip hop’s living icons is not enough to save this doomed tuned. It’s an EDM-pop concoction on par with anything you can currently find spinning between Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding at radio, but offers no unique qualities whatsoever. You can find the song and official video below.

Even though Lil Wayne’s music has suffered in recent years, his business acumen has typically been pristine. I think Paris Hilton may be the biggest mistake the label has made since they attempted to make Jae Millz a household name, but maybe there is something more to the heiress we have yet to see (though I find that extremely hard to imagine).
