The Used Begin Recording Sixth LP

The Used, a band that doesn’t seem to stop, have begun recording their sixth LP, according to a tweet from producer and longtime collaborator John Feldmann. With the release of their latest EP, The Ocean of the Sky, just reaching three months since dropping, it seems that The Used have wasted no time before churning out more tracks for their fans.

The Used and I have a long and windy past. While not particularly partial to much that they have released post-In Love and Death, The Used were a staple in my adolescent years, in my attempts to find a personal sense of music. Their self-titled record is one of few records that I consider “legendary,” and I still vividly remember locking myself in my room, nights on end, attempting to teach myself the chords to their songs. I never took guitar lessons formally, but the intro to “Maybe Memories” was the first piece of music that ever resonated from my own hand, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

We have time to wait before we can hear The Used’s new material, but in the meantime I’ll be spinning The Used, and swooning at “Blue and Yellow” all over again.
