Second Trailer for George Clooney’s ‘The Monuments Men’ Is A Must-See

George Clooney does not stop working. He is either on set, working on a film, or doing publicity for one of the many projects he’s involved in around the world. Somewhere between working on Gravity and other projects he found time to create The Monuments Men, and today we get our second look at his latest masterpiece.

World War II is probably the most often depicted battle on the silver screen, but this December Clooney and an all-star cast of Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bob Balaban, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville will attempt to entertain audiences with a tale never before told in cinema. The film focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. You can view the trailer below.

When a film is described as being set during a war, the first thing that tends to come to mind is the gritty imagery forever burned into our minds from classics like Saving Private Ryan or The Thin Red Line. This could not be further from the look and feel of Monuments Men, which in several ways feels like a ‘super old school’ take on Ocean’s Eleven. This one is based on actual events, of course, but we all know how meaningless that phrase tends to be in modern cinema.

The Monuments Men opens December 18.
