UTG ALBUM PREMIERE: Anacondas – ‘Sub Contra Blues’

We do our absolute best to bring you the most exciting new music around, and this afternoon we could not be more excited to be partnering with Prosthetic Records to stream the debut album from your next heavy addiction, Anacondas.

Hailing from the UK, Anacondas originally formed in 2010 from the ashes of the acclaimed English metallic hardcore group Johnny Truant. The group consists of three members, including former Johnny Truant members/brothers Stuart Hunter(guitars) and James Hunter(bass), along with the addition of Tim Newman on drums. Our friend Kelly Walsh put them on our radar, and as soon as we heard their debut album we knew we wanted to help out any way we could.

Boasting a sound that is best described as a cross between Pelican, Alice In Chains, and Meshuggah, Sub Contra Blues introduces Anacondas to the metal world with one of the most exciting debut albums we have heard all year. It grabs you from the opening moments of “Moon On Fire” and pulls you into a dense, pulsating world of hard rock that you won’t soon forget. You can stream the entire release at the end of this post.

Sub Contra Blues is scheduled to be released this coming Tuesday, October 15 (UK/EU Oct. 14, G/A/S Oct. 18). If you like what you hear, head over to the Prosthetic Records site and claim your copy today!
