If EDM and post-hardcore seems like a strange combination, just remember that Sonny Moore, the man behind Skrillex, was once the frontman of From First To Last. With that in mind, it might not seem so strange to hear Jason Butler, the vocalist of one of post-hardcore’s most prominent and promising bands, letlive., on the new Skrillex and Alvin Risk remix, “Try It Out.”

The pairing works surprisingly well, as Butler’s repeated yell of “Put ’em up!” complements the track’s pulsing electronics and warped vocal lines. Give it a listen after the break.
