Last week, Finch guitarist Randy “R2K” Strohmeyer’s father passed away, leading the band to head out on tour, while Randy stays home with family. Today, the band confirmed with AlternativePress that he will be returning to the live lineup this weekend in Atlanta. Up until now, the band has featured bassist Daniel Wonacott and vocalist Nate Barcalow switching off on Strohmeyer’s regular guitar duties.
In addition to this, the band is set to release a live album from one of their California performances, What It Is To Burn X, on Tragic Hero Records. This continues Tragic Hero’s trend of expanding its roster in new ways; originally started as a hardcore label, my two favorite bands on it are now a set of Drive Thru Records veterans and the instrumental groove rock of Strawberry Girls. It just goes to show, though: good music is good music regardless of genre.
You can watch the trailer for the DVD, which looks glorious, here after the break, as well as look at the upcoming tour dates.
