Lights Over Paris’ Frontman Convicted Of Fraudulently Borrowing $11m

Want to live the lifestyle of a rockstar but not actually put the work into being one? I mean, who hasn’t? Well in the case of Robert Mawhinney, he did just that. According to reports, he managed to talk his way into getting his band, Lights Over Paris (of which he is the only member), $11 million.

He used this money to make some music videos, but it was mostly used for him to live a lavish lifestyle. This included expensive cars, exotic vacations, bikini clad women and a killer suite in LA.

In case you thought something like this would be a good idea, you would be wrong. He has been convicted on four counts of making false statements to federally insured banks, and one count of money laundering. For those, he will be serving seven years in jail.
