Official ‘Contracted’ Trailer Will Make Your Skin Crawl

If you have been following our movie coverage in recent months you have probably noticed us mention Eric England’s Contracted a time or two. The film has been bouncing around the festival circuit for a few months, but it won’t be available for mainstream audiences until its theatrical and VOD debut on November 22. IFC Films has just released the official trailer, and let me tell you up front those with a weak stomach may want to think twice before pressing play.

Contracted will undoubtedly be billed as “the STD movie,” but there is far more going on. Samantha is a twenty-something like any other. She feels out of place in normal society, but at the same time feels displaced pretty much anywhere she roams. Work is hard, family is even worse, and then one night a friend calls and begs her to forget it all and have a little fun. Samantha agrees, and at some point over the course of the next several hours becomes so intoxicated she blacks out. The next morning she wakes in bed with no recollection of how she got home and only a few blurry memories to try and piece together. Did she have sex? If so, who with? She shakes away these thoughts and tries to go on with her life, until one day she realizes she’s getting sick. Really sick. She tries to avoid the pain like she does her many mounting life problems, but slowly things turns from bad to worse, and you won’t believe what happens next. You can view the trailer below.

Contracted hits theaters and VOD on November 22. If you watch closely in the trailer, or if you look at the movie poster included below, you may see this very website receive a nod from IFC. Comment and let us know if you plan on seeing Contracted when it rolls out next month.
