Jonas Brothers Confirm Breakup, Claim It Was A Unanimous Decision

So long, Jonas Brothers.

After weeks of rumors and a cancelled tour due to what some called a ‘deep rift’ in the group, the Jonas Brothers have announced they are officially ending their career as a band. They’ll remain family of course, so this isn’t your typical breakup, but the brothers’ days of playing music together have come to an end.

Speaking exclusively to People Magazine, the JoBros opened up for the first time since rumors of their demise began nearly a month ago. Their comments, for the most part, were relatively short:

“It’s over for now,” Kevin Jonas says.

“It’s really hard to say ‘forever,’ ” says Nick. “We’re closing a chapter, for sure.”

“It was a unanimous decision,” says Joe.

The article goes on to claim that the decision to part ways stemmed from a conversation initiated by Nick Jonas in early October. Nick explained, “I was feeling kind of trapped. I needed to share my heart with my brothers.”

For an idea of how this decision has impacted tweens and teens around the globe, we’ve obtained this exclusive gif of Ralph Wiggum receiving the news:

Rest easy, Jonas Brothers. I’m sure your various solo projects will keep us entertained until a fitting anniversary tour presents itself.
