FREE MP3: Fall Out Boy x Lorde – “America’s Royals” (Mashup)

If you listen to pop radio at all it’s likely you’ve been unable to avoid Lorde‘s smash hit “Royals” in recent weeks. The sixteen-year-old New Zealand native has been a recent staple in the pop culture spotlight, and today we’re excited to share a new mashup that pairs her haunting vocals with the biggest band in the alternative scene.

Recently, a Tumblr user by the name of aeyelaeyen, decided that a mashup needed to be made featuring Fall Out Boy and Lorde. He dug through files to find songs that paired well and ultimately decided the Folie A Deux cut “America’s Suitehearts” was the single he needed to include. Many hours and editing tricks later, “America’s Royals” was complete. You can stream and download the mashup at the end of this post.

As far as we can tell, aeyelaeyen does not have a page dedicated to sharing all his mashups. That said, those interested in supporting this brilliant mind are encouraged to check out his original music project, Greater Than, on Bandcamp. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the mashup.

  1. Laurie says:

Brilliant. AS is a salty sendoff for the Bush/Cheney era and Lorde came about in that context. FOB and Lorde are label artists that end-cap highly skilled millennial pop talent: prodigies (Lorde starting her career and Patrick nearing 30 with a formidable resume)… same critique. Love of one’s own sins, we’ve heard this all before.
