Best Coast have spent their entire career crafting and refining a unique blend of surf punk and pop that brings to mind the work of Patsy Cline as often as it does The Beach Boys or The Safaris. Their latest single, “I Don’t Know How,” offers the finest representation of this sound to date, and today the band released perhaps the most fitting video accompaniment imaginable.

Standing in an empty pool wearing a simple dress, Best Coast vocalist Bethany Cosentino spends the majority of the video for “I Don’t Know How” singing about love and life while the California suns shines down on her. As the clip progresses, the camera slowly pulls back to reveal a gang of skateboarders moving around Cosentino as they skate up and down the pool walls, offering an oddly metaphorical visual representation of the group’s sound that stays with the viewer long after the clip has come to an end.
