Craig Owens Covers Bikini Kill’s “Rebel Girl”

When I was a teen I listened to a lot of punk and alternative music. One of the bands that I listened to regularly, which was unfortunately after they parted ways, was Bikini Kill. I loved them instantly when I first heard Kathleen Hanna growl the first verse in “Suck My Left One.”

One of my current, and long time favorite groups is Chiodos. They’re currently working on their next full length studio album, and Craig Owens took some time this past September to record a cover of a popular Bikini Kill track, titled “Rebel Girl,” and released it through Alternative Press. The song is to support Equal Rights Advocates and Girls Rock Camp Alliance. Each are organizations that are fighting for women’s equality. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to these two organizations.
