UTG PHOTOS: About That Life Tour (10/29/13)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Corbin Alvae, to the About That Life Tour at the Crofoot in Pontiac, MI.

Let’s see, how can I start this off? Actually, I’ll start off by saying this: WILD. Why wild? This is how my night went: So going out to Pontiac to catch this tour, I already knew that it featured a ton of wild acts, and for me, I’m into that type of stuff. This tour from when I arrived till the end, nothing but bodies everywhere! There were points throughout the night where I was actually scared to go in the photo pit. Shocker, I know, but I didn’t get kicked in the head or punched, which was awesome! Got to hang with a bunch of friends, met some new faces and captured some gnarly images.

I arrived right when Ohio metalcore band, The Plot In You was setting up and getting tuned up to do what they do best: destroy the stage. I’ve known these fellas for awhile and every performance they do, it just gets more and more wild and super entertaining. What really got me though was when Landon dragged out a mic stand with a human body on it. That was nuts! Overall, TPIY never fail to give the most solid performance around when they come to The Mitten.

Next up we have female fronted metal band, iwrestledabearonce. IWABO definitely stood out to me with the amount of energy that the entire group had; from jumping to lead vocalist Courtney rolling around the stage. If you’re ever at a metal show or festival and IWABO is on it, go watch them! No disappointment there.

Next we have Texas metal band, Upon A Burning Body. I’ve never seen these guys live before, only seen videos, so when I saw they were on this tour, I was stoked to catch their set. During UABB set, it got to the point where it got so out of control that I literally counted at least 15 bodies just fly over that barricade in a matter of minutes, even saw some fans go a little too hard and hit their head on the stage. The guys in UABB definitely came to Michigan with one thing on their mind: give a wild performance for everyone to remember and they sure as hell did.

Finally we have the headliner of this tour, the raging machines, Attila. You knew already that this group were ready to party with their fans from Michigan. As soon as I heard Fronz kick things off with the opening rap to “Middle Fingers Up,” I knew right from there that the venue was about to erupt and it sure as hell did once that breakdown hit. Their whole set involved a bunch of newer tracks from their newest album, About That Life, along with tracks off of their past albums, Outlawed and Rage. Attila brought what I expected of them and living up to their word of being the ultimate party band. Well done, fellas!

Below are the images I captured of the tour for your enjoyment. Stay tuned for some more photo sets coming soon!
