Sampha Releases Drake-Less Version Of “Too Much,” Launches Vinyl Preorders

Anyone listening to Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same likely found themselves falling in love with the smooth voice backing the YMCMB heartthrob on the standout track “Too Much.” The man behind that voice is named Sampha, and this week he released the a hauntingly beautiful solo version of his Drizzy collaboration that we simply had to share with all of you.

Backed by a piano, Sampha uses “Too Much” to vent his thoughts on love and the problems that come with trying to rush the romantic bliss we all seek in our lives. People want their lovers to be everything all at once, but focusing too much (get it?) on finding someone that matches all those qualities will likely lead to a very lonely life. You can stream the song and its accompanying music video at the end of this post.

Sampha knows the attention given to him as a result of NWTS won’t last forever, which is exactly why he’s announced plans to release a limited edition 7″ pressing of “Too Much” in early January. Click here to preorder your copy today.
