Lionsgate Considering ‘Hunger Games’ Theme Park Attractions

Some people might think a theme park, or theme park attractions based off a series where kids are pitted against each other in a battle to the death would be in poor taste, but those people clearly do not work for Lionsgate (or anyone they deal with).

According to a new story on Deadline, Lionsgate is currently in talks about the possibility of developing theme park attractions based on the Hunger Games franchise. While speaking to an analyst during a recent call, CEO Jon Feltheimer explained the studio has been “approached in two territories about potential theme park opportunities.” He then added, “We’re pursuing them.”

No additional details about the potential for Hunger Games themed attractions are available at this time, but the sheer possibility of it does lead one to wonder about the type of rides and interactive environments that could be developed for such a project.

Would a Hunger Games attraction similar to The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter or Universal’s recently completed Simpsons expansion interest you? Comment below and let us know your thoughts.

Catching Fire, the second film in the Hunger Games franchise, opens November 22.
