UTG EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Hrbrs – “Hindsight”

Oxnard, CA post-hardcore five-piece, Hrbrs, released Always Holding On earlier this year but are currently set to share a split release through Rooftop Records with Australian natives, Hourglass. Under The Gun is thrilled to have the opportunity to be the first to share with you one of Hrbrs’ two tracks from that very split, due out November 19. Rooftop explains, “The split will be released both digitally and on a limited run of 50 red cassettes, which will only be available at live shows.”

“Hindsight” is a raw and emotional venture through personal struggles, and the honesty revealed amongst the intensely gritty vocals and mostly melodic instrumentation is refreshing. You can stream “Hindsight” in its entirety after the jump where you can also find a statement from Hrbrs’ vocalist about the inspiration for the song and what it’s all about.

Afterwards, hurry over to Hrbrs’ Bandcamp to pick up a digital copy of Always Holding On for free!

Matty Sage shares, “‘Hindsight’ is a song about disappointment. It’s a song about looking back on the choices you’ve made and coming to terms with the reality of their consequences. It’s a song about the never ending cycle of ups and downs and the struggle to find and hold onto any sort of stability. ‘Hindsight’ is a song about an internal battle between what I thought I wanted and what I now have. It’s a song about dreams not living up to expectations. It’s a song about feeling trapped in your own mind, in the cycle of decisions you have made, and in the reality of having everything you ever dreamed of and realizing it means nothing to you.”
