Machine Gun Kelly Releases “Swing Life Away” Video Featuring Kellin Quinn

Cleveland native Machine Gun Kelly has released the official music video for his Kellin Quinn assisted single, “Swing Life Away.”

Borrowing a hook and a bit of music from Chicago punk heroes Rise Against to tell his own story of overcoming the odds, Machine Gun Kelly has crafted quite an interesting single with “Swing Life Away.” The original message of love being more important than any other job or task still remains, but the way it’s delivered has been changed to showcase the softer side of MGK. The chorus may be the same, but the verses are filled with his story of losing friends and loved ones in search of something better, and how even when he found himself on top it was the emotional connection with others that mattered most. You can view the clip below.

Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn delivers the soaring clean vocals on the hook, but his disheveled hair and signature gaze is nowhere to be found in this clip. My guess is scheduling wouldn’t allow for a guest appearance to happen, but it would have been nice if it did. Still, the video for “Swing Life Away” packs a far heavier emotional punch than anything visually offered by MGK to date. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the video.
