The New York-based band has announced that members are parting ways and has cancelled the band’s 2014 European tour.
Regarding the break up, singer Donald Cumming has stated:
“There’s nothing I’d hoped to do with The Virgins that we haven’t done. Its been an incredible experience and I want to thank everyone who was a part of it, but now it’s time to move on. I’ll see you in my dreams.”
The Virgins formed in 2006 and released their self-titled debut in 2008. The band released Strike Gently earlier this year via Cult Records, the label of Strokes member Julian Casablancas. The band’s record was the first ever release from Cult Records.
