U2’s Danger Mouse-Produced LP Expected in April

As one of the biggest rock bands in the world, it’s exciting when concrete details begin lining up for new music from U2. Now, alas, we finally know that their upcoming album–which will be produced by Danger Mouse–is now set to come out in April of next year.

This will be U2’s first album since 2009’s No Line on the Horizon. The new album has mainly been recorded at New York’s Electric Lady Studios and currently the band are looking for a corporation to sponsor with to help them announce the new album during the Super Bowl. Yes, when you’re a super famous band, you need help from the big dogs to promote your album; how else will people hear about it?

A few weeks ago, a clip of a new U2 song was found in the trailer for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The song, called “Ordinary Love,”  will be featured solely in the film’s soundtrack and is not off of their upcoming record, but you can purchase it as a 10″ on Record Store Day’s Black Friday event this month.
