Lab Report Suggests That Brittany Murphy May Have Been Poisoned

It’s been nearly 4 years since Sin City actress Brittany Murphy passed away of what were originally reported as natural causes; pneumonia and anemia. In what was ostensibly a coincidence, 5 months later, Murphy’s widower, Simon Monjack, was found dead at the same residence which was also reported to be caused by pneumonia and severe anemia. Odd? Very.

Murphy’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, wasn’t buying it and suspected that the two were in fact poisoned by someone out to kill the couple, so he requested that the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office provide him with his daughter’s hair samples for independent testing via the Carlson Company.

TheWrap reports that recently, in what the lab’s general manager Denny Seilheimer calls a “bona fide report,” evidence was found that Murphy and Monjack may have in fact been poisoned as Bertolotti had suspected, probably by “a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent.” The report found that Murphy’s body had severely elevated levels of aluminum, manganese, barium and other metals. You can view a screenshot of the report after the jump.

No further information is currently available as TheWrap states, “Bertolotti told TheWrap he was not immediately available to comment Monday,” and Seilheimer had nothing much to say other than, “It was our client’s prerogative to release the report. That’s all I can tell you.” LAPD spokesman, Officer Cleon Joseph, explained it would be up to the coroner’s office whether to take further action.

We will update this story as any further information arises.
