Still Remains Announce New Album, Debut Heavy First Single

The metalcore renaissance continues as Still Remains have officially announced their first new album in six years and made the first track, “Close to the Grave,” available for download on their Facebook page. The album, Ceasing to Breathe, comes courtesy of a successful Kickstarter campaign that saw the band easily exceed their original $15,000 goal.

Still Remains previously released two well-received studio albums on Roadrunner Records in 2005’s Of Love and Lunacy and 2007’s The Serpent before disbanding in 2008. Ceasing to Breathe will be released on December 17 and features a guest appearance from Zao’s Dan Weyandt.

I can’t imagine who would complain, but the band felt the need to defend the surprisingly heavy new track by accompanying it with a comment you can read after the break, along with the album’s tracklisting.

Guys, don’t worry there is plenty of classic SR material on the record. We wanted to give you guys a brutal song first. Don’t worry!! On this record, there is PLENTY of Melodics, riffage, thrash, etc. that you are accustomed to hearing from us. Thanks for all the positive feedback so far, we are very very excited to get this track out to you!

Here’s the tracklisting:

1. Bear Your Teeth – feat Dan Weyandt

6. A Way Out
7. Keeping Secrets
