UTG PHOTOS: Started From The Bottom Tour (11/11/13)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Corbin Alvae, to the Started From The Bottom Tour at The Crofoot in Pontiac, MI.

Well, hey! I’m back again and ready to chit chat about what was called the ‘Started From The Bottom Tour.’ One thing I can say about this tour is that it was super stacked with tons of talent that I personally have listened to for awhile now. The location couldn’t have been any better, as it was at one of my favorite hometown venues, The Crofoot.

I always like shooting here and definitely enjoy hanging out with the rad security guards and the amazing staff, so with this tour coming through here, it was bound to be a phenomenal night and it sure as hell was.

I arrived right around when California band, Dayshell, was sound checking. I had never really heard of them before, until I was told that it was Shayley Bourget’s (ex-Of Mice & Men) new project. For this being my first time catching them live, I definitely got into them quick and really enjoyed the tracks.

After Dayshell, we had Utah band, Get Scared, take the stage. Get Scared was full of energy and kept me, and I’m sure the rest of the crowd, very entertained and hyped up for what was to come later on that night. Definitely catch them in your city; they don’t disappoint.

After Get Scared, the wild Texas band, Crown The Empire, took the stage. I’ve seen these guys multiple times, one being when they were here on the ‘Take Action Tour’ and when I was in New Jersey for Skate & Surf. Once again, I was not disappointed; from start to finish, CTE kept The Crofoot crowd alive and had those wild kids pitting like crazy.

Next up, we had our co-headliner of the tour, The Word Alive. For me, it’s hard to describe how talented and entertaining this group is. This was my first time actually seeing them perform live and being able to see my favorite tracks “Entirety” and “Life Cycles” being played was awesome to experience, especially when frontman Telle did a backflip. These guys will never disappoint…ever.

Finally, we have the hometown group known as I See Stars. I remember seeing these guys way back in the day play in a little coffee shop in the city of Warren, in front of maybe 75-100 people. Seeing them play in front of a sold out, 1,500 capacity venue was an unbelievable experience. These guys put out the hype to end the night correctly with a phenomenal light show to the hard hitting tracks off of their latest album, New Demons, to even some super hard hitting club music, just to get that crowd moving even more. ISS put on a performance to the point that the crowd left with memories that they’ll keep forever.

Overall, the ‘Started From The Bottom Tour’ packed the punch from start to finish, leaving me with a fun-filled night and with photos for everyone to enjoy — especially the fans who attended.
