The Words We Use Part Ways With Vocalist

The Words We Use are a post hardcore outfit hailing from New Haven County, Connecticut. The band released their EP, Morals, last year and have also released a number of music videos in that time. Though from the outside it seemed like everything was running smoothly for the band, it’s now come to light that there were some rifts in the group.

The band has released a statement indicating that one of the vocalists in the group, Tyler Richmond, decided that he no longer wished to be a part of the band. They go on to claim that he went to them with a contract granting him more royalties than he was owed, that he would have access to the band Facebook page to promote his future endeavors, and that they would have to use his artwork on the next album cover. Aside from those details, the band has not revealed why Tyler decided to part ways with them. However, you can read all of what they had to say by checking below.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to let you guys know what has been going on with TWWU for the past few hours.

Today, Tyler came to us with the decision to quit TWWU. Although the reasons are private and only his to explain, we completely respect and understand his decision. He presented us with an illogical contract that stated he was due more percentage of the royalties then was actually owed. In order for us to keep the extra money Tyler thought he deserved, we had to allow him to continue on our page as an admin indefinitely and let him post about his future musical projects as often as he wanted, regardless of what we thought. We would have also been forced to have his artwork as our future album artwork whether we approved it or not.

We will not allow anyone to dictate to us what we can and cannot do as a band/business, no matter who it is. We wish Tyler the best in life and his future musical endeavours and have absolutely no bad blood between us.

With that being said, we are moving forward as a band. We are currently trying out vocalists of any style and welcome all auditions. If you are interested in auditioning, please email us at thewordsweuse@gmail.com or on any of the bands official social media channels. We are writing tons of new music and are looking to record in January so the sooner the better!

Thank you all so much for sticking with us so far and we hope you guys continue to support us. We know it has been a rough few months but we can ensure you that our new music will be worth the wait.
