Architects Drop Off Protest The Hero Tour

Protest The Hero are currently headlining a US tour through December, and have some of their friends tagging along with them as support. One of those bands is the UK group known as Architects. They’ve been on the road for a while now, but announced earlier today that they’ve made the decision to drop off the tour due to personal reasons. Unlike the generic reasons bands usually give, the band let fans know why they decided to drop off.

According to their statement, they are physically and mentally exhausted from recording their new album. Since they went out on tour immediately after recording the album, they’ve gotten burnt out. You can read all of what they had to say by taking a look below the jump.

There’s no easy way to say this but we have decided to pull out of the remaining Protest the Hero shows in the US. In the interests of honesty, avoiding ambiguity and the standard ‘personal reasons’ line, we want to explain our reasons clearly.

A big factor in this was beginning this tour immediately after an extremely intense period recording our new album, which had already left us burnt out and mentally / physically exhausted. Simply said – we have nothing left in us after the extremely long year we have had thus far. We have hit a brick wall and desperately need a break to be home, get healthy and clear our minds for the remainder of the year.

We haven’t taken this decision lightly. We make it carrying a great deal of guilt for letting down the bands we’re on tour with and the fans that have bought tickets, and to them we are sorry. This is the first time in 8 years of touring that we’ve ever had to do anything like this and it makes us feel extremely uncomfortable. This is also a not a financially motivated decision, exiting this tour means we lose out on a good amount of money, but somethings are more important. Protest is of course going on with the tour and they will announce our replacement soon.

Again – we are deeply sorry to everyone we have let down. We will be back next year, revitalised and with a brand new album.
