Justin Bieber Debuts “Change Me”

Another week, another #MusicMondays debut from Justin Bieber.

If you have been following Bieber’s new music series over the last month you’ve no doubt come to accept the fact he’s set on proving to folks he can be ‘grown and sexy’ with his approach to songwriting. From the subtle to tongue-in-cheek, his recent singles have toed the line of sensuality with a fervency not found on his earlier material. His latest, “Change Me,” channels that grown sound into a piano-lead ballad about looking for the one who can change him. You know, make him less into Brazilian porn stars and more into being the humble guy you can bring home to mom type his PR team wishes you belieb-ed him to be. You can stream the song below.

We skipped a few #MusicMondays over the last month, but all jokes aside there is a lot to enjoy in “Change Me.” Bieber is growing as an artist, and while I’m not 100% sold on his current direction there is plenty of promise to be found in what he’s currently delivering to fans. Who cares if he isn’t a Disney PR dream? His Music Mondays R&B tracks are for adults not kids. People forget he was discovered on YouTube singing R&B songs not pop, it was his record label that pushed him to making pop songs. Now he is making the music he wants to and it getting him respect from the music critics and gaining him mature fans. We are witnessing Justin Bieber’s transition to adult music and him shaking off that teenybopper idol image and music for good.
