During Pearl Jam’s concert in Portland on November 29, the three members of riot grrrl band Sleater-Kinney reunited. Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss were brought onstage and welcomed by members of Pearl Jam for the band’s grand finale: a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Sleater-Kinney last performed together in 2006, making this the band’s first appearance in nearly a decade. In the meantime, Brownstein has starred in IFC’s Portlandia, Tucker has released two albums with the Corin Tucker Band, and Weiss has worked with Steven Malkmus and Quasi.

Brownstein hinted at a Sleater-Kinney reunion “within the next five years” back in 2010.
