It’s no secret the world has been impatiently awaiting the release of Childish Gambino‘s new album. For weeks the rapper – real name Donald Glover – has been battling the anonymous forces of music leaks to promote and release material off the record on his own terms, and now that the album is just days away from release, the full album has found its way online. Why? Because the internet, of course.
Featuring nineteen tracks, many of which being titled in ways that pair the songs into multi-chaptered sections, Because The Internet hits online retailers December 5. The album is the second album from Childish Gambino, following the 2011 release of his critically-acclaimed debut, Camp, and it features guest appearances from Chance The Rapper, Jhene Aiko, and more. You can stream the album in full at the end of this post.
We have been covering Because The Internet heavily in recent weeks, and based on our first impressions of the record I think our efforts were well worth the time spent. No one in music is delivering material quite like Gambino right now, and Because The Internet is further proof he belongs at the top of hip-hop’s lyrical hierarchy.
