Wonder Woman Cast For ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

Well, we finally have a chance to meet her. The role of Wonder Woman has been cast for the upcoming DC Comics film, Batman vs. Superman. Gal Gadot, from recent Fast and Furious fame will helm the role.

It has been rumored for months now that Wonder Woman would make an appearance in the film, though this is our first confirmation. While speaking about the role, Synder says that “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Gal Gadot will have much of a role to fill, attesting to Synder’s point that this will be the first feature film appearance of the favorite character. While I sometimes fear that Batman vs. Superman is attempting to become The Avengers way too fast, it will be a nice change to see a strong, powerful, female lead in a superhero film that is not Scarlett Johansson’s ass.

What do you all think of the casting? As I am not a fan of the Fast and Furious series, I am not in the least bit familiar with Godot’s work. Do you think she will make a good Wonder Woman? In a tweet she says, “Wonder Women! So exciting!!!” Let us hope that she was calling out to powerful women everywhere, and not just getting Wonder Woman’s name wrong.
