In a recent and ridiculously in-depth interview with Complex, legendary producer and performer Pharrell Williams said that he is currently working on a follow-up to 2006’s In My Mind, his most recent full-length.
Currently, details regarding the album are scarce, however, Pharrell has made one thing clear–he will not be rapping on the release, attributing this change in direction to age, marriage, and parenthood.
“I love rapping, but–something’s coming, and I’m not rapping on it,” Pharrell said. “It’s focused. Like I told you, that’s the difference between 30 and 40. ‘Cause I was 30, and now I’m 40–and I’m not rapping.”
Back in November, the pop star released an interactive music video for his tune “Happy,” which found its way on to the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack this past summer. You can view it below.
