Shocker: Rick Ross Delays ‘Mastermind’

Rick Ross began teasing plans to release a new album titled Mastermind in January of this year. We knew it likely wouldn’t hit stores until fall, but it dawned on us last week that with only four weeks left in the year a proper release from the MMG mastermind was highly unlikely. Today he confirmed that suspicion, and now we have no idea when Mastermind may hit stores.

Speaking on DJ Scream’s radio show via cell phone, Ross the boss admitted he’s not quite finished with his long-awaited new album. “I’m still putting the final touches on the album, “ he told Scream. “You know me, making that classic is more important than anything. Making sure the streets are overwhelmed with what I am doing is what is most important. I’m gonna try to get it to you, and if I don’t, I’ll get it to you ASAP.”

You can stream Ross’ interview with Scream at the end of this post.

Ross released a remix to his fall smash “No Games” at the end of last week. Most expected the release to follow news of the album’s fate, but this is certainly not what we hope to hear. We’ll bring you more information on Mastermind as it becomes available.
