The Flaming Lips, New Fumes, And An Uncredited Ke$ha Cover The Stone Roses

Though one Flaming Lips-led collaborative album may have been tragically torpedoed, another still lives. The Flaming Lips’ LP-length cover of The Stone Roses’ debut album still lives and was released on Black Friday. Record Store Day is so much more than just a single day of shopping now.

The album, titled The Time Has Come To Shoot You Down … What A Sound, features contributions from a number of artists: Poliça, Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado, Spaceface, Peaking Lights, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, New Fumes, Def Rain, and an uncredited Ke$ha. As for why Ke$ha is uncredited and still being tragically separated from Coyne… well that’s still very much up to speculation.

Ke$ha’s name was noticeably absent from the album’s list of collaborators – a list she was previously included on (as pointed out by Stereogum). She’s definitely still on the cover of “Elizabeth My Dear,” though; check out the vinyl rip below for confirmation. A number of fans seem to be blaming pop music’s premier medical man, Dr. Luke, for hemming Ke$ha in creatively. Regardless of the reason, free Ke$ha.
