Garth Brooks Will Tour In 2014

It has been over a decade since country music legend Garth Brooks toured the nation, and in that time a lot has changed in the world of music. Still, it’s hard to find any country station that doesn’t have at least a few hits from his iconic catalog still in regular rotation. He’s proof you can walk away without losing any respect, and next year his patient fans will finally have the chance to see him perform once more.

Speaking with Good Morning America in a new interview, Garth Brooks revealed he is ready to return to the world of touring. He originally took time off from the road to raise his three daughters with wife Trisha Yearwood, but according to Brooks they’re now grown and he’s looking for something to do.

“Our baby’s a senior in high school, and we talked about it and all my babies are fine with it, and Mrs. Yearwood is fine with it,” Brooks said of his return. “So now I get to do what I love to do, which is play music, I get to be with the person I want to be with, which is Mrs. Yearwood. And my children are off on their their own, so the guilt of not being there . . . I’m a phone-call dad now.”

In addition to touring, Brooks is currently scheduled to perform a series of solo gigs in Vegas next month as part of a short term residency.

There is no official word yet on when fans can expect Brooks to hit the road once more, but he did tell GMA he would be accompanied by a full band the entire run. Country isn’t something we cover every day, but when Garth Brooks makes moves the entire industry pays attention. Expect more details on his return to touring in the months ahead.
