Throwdown Debut “Avow”

Need a reason to mosh? Don’t worry, Throwdown have you covered.

Just a few days after announcing plans to release their new album, Intolerance, Throwdown have debuted a new song titled “Avow.” The song is the first to surface from the forthcoming January release, which will be the group’s seventh, and it packs one hell of a hardcore punch. You can stream the song in full below.

“I’ve written a lot of lyrical content coming off as rehashed. I was meticulous if not a little obsessive about making all venture into similar territory,” says frontman Dave Peters. “It’s been two decades since I’ve been straight edge. ‘Avow’is about how it was important to me.”

Listening to “Avow” it’s not hard to sense the importance of straight edge in Peters’ life. Much like the best tracks off Haymaker, the hook reinforces Peters’ belief with an urgency that cannot be denied. Even if you don’t follow the code, it’s hard to hate on the guy’s passion.

Intolerance hits stores January 21. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on “Avow.”
