MUSIC VIDEO: The Lockhearts – “FREAKSHOW”

Australia’s musical exports have seemingly taken over a substantial portion of our news feed this year, but that’s certainly all right with us. Adding to its roster of rock comes Sydney quartet, The Lockhearts, who have recently released their debut music video for the single, “FREAKSHOW.”

This big, anthemic, stadium rock jam is accompanied visually by a psychedelic neon and kaleidoscopic video that’s already received rotation from MTV and the like. There isn’t a story or concept per se but the visuals are fitting for the track that harkens back to the days of 80s glam metal and arena rock, including the bright, tight clothing and lengthy hair that have become indefinitely recognizable symbols of the era. The Lockhearts are expected to release new music in 2014 but for the time being are honing their craft in a live setting with an ongoing residency every Tuesday night at the Spectrum venue for Ziggy Pop nights in Darlinghurst.
