The Week In Trailers (12/14/13)

Everyone has a different level of love for movies. Some people like to show up to the theater just in the nick of time to catch their flick, choosing to skip seeing the trailers before the feature. Others will make sure they arrive early enough to see all the previews so they can get excited for upcoming films. The Week In Trailers is for the second kind of people.

Here are a few trailers released in the last week all conveniently in one place for your viewing pleasure.

A Fantastic Fear Of Everything

When crime novelist Jack (Simon Pegg), a man who formerly wrote children’s books, becomes paranoid of his own death by murder he finally gets a big break. As a movie studio begins production on a film based on one of his books Jack begins to unravel as he his forced to his inner demons.

A Fantastic Fear Of Everything looks like exactly what you would expect a film starring Simon Pegg to be: brilliant. This lighthearted comedy appears to have elements of surreal but playful nightmares that should keep this British film above mediocrity.

Earth To Echo

Three young friends find a strange encoded message on their cell phones which they believe to be more important than they seem. After turning to their parents and the authorities results in nothing the boys set out to figure out the code themselves. This decision leads to an adventure that is out of this world.

KIds plus aliens is usually cinematic gold and Earth To Echo seems to be on track to be a memorable science fiction film. With the success of movies like Super 8 you can be sure that this one will probably be getting some significant buzz in the upcoming months.

Freezer

A New York City mechanic (Dylan McDermott) is mistaken for a man that owes the Russian mob a lot of money and is locked in a freezer in this upcoming VOD thriller. The film also features Peter Facinelli (Twilight) as a wounded cop who may hold the key to escaping their icy fate.

Freezer may not be the next great thriller but it does appear to have some decent action and Dylan McDermott seems to be at the top of his game. For the price of a rental this seems like a smart way to spend a cold February night in.
