Beyoncé Releases Videos For “Drunk In Love” And “XO”

As you may have heard, Beyoncé dropped a surprise album on Thursday night. It’s self-titled, contains 14 tracks and 17 videos, and has been, by all accounts, an instant success. Reactions and reviews have been rapturous, and the sales numbers have been impressive. Beyoncé was already a pop superstar. After this, we need to consider a new title. Her husband’s the biggest rapper on the planet, and she certainly has now outdone his 2013.

While we consider a new title for the new queen of the internet, we’ve been supplied with the videos for the first two radio singles. “Drunk In Love” and “XO” are about as different as could be.

The former is a sexually charged, black-and-white beach affair that, while co-starring that aforementioned husband, focuses on Bey’s body until the couple-y closing.

“XO,” by contrast, has all  lights on blast and all ages included. The song is a dazzling, inspirational piece replete with a sing-along crowd. It further establishes this in the video, which is set at a crowded carnival where everyone is all smiles, joy, and good-natured silliness.
