Understand the True Meaning of Stage Fright in the New Trailer for ‘Grand Piano’

Are you the type of person that gets scared to be on stage? The kind of person who loves to create but hates to perform because of the crippling amount of anxiety that comes with it? Well, imagine having those anxieties, and then being told that if you miss one note of your performance, you will be shot on site by a sniper rifle. If you just had a slight panic attack, you may not want to watch the trailer for Eugenio Mira’s new film, Grand Piano.

Starring Elijah Wood, Grand Piano tells the story of a reclusive pianist named Tom Selznick, who returns from a long hiatus of performing, only to find a note in his score  saying that if he plays one wrong note during his return to performing, he will be shot by a hidden sniper in the theater. High concept? Yes. Does the trailer look absolutely awesome? Definitely so. With such an over the top concept, there is a possibility this could get slightly hokey, but with Elijah Wood portraying the main character (he killed it in 2012’s Maniac), we think Grand Piano is a safe bet for some great cinema.

Grand Piano comes out via Magnet Releasing on VOD January 30, and in theaters on March 7. Will you be hitting the download button come January? If this trailer is any indication of the quality of the film, we most certainly will.
