Joaquin Phoenix Eyed For Villain Role In ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

Woah, hold on now.

It appears that The Master, and Her actor Joaquin Phoenix has been offered the lead villain role (though he has yet to answer) for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, unofficially titled Batman vs. Superman.

I know right? How awesome would that be? Rumored to be the role of Lex Luthor, Phoenix would dominate the screen. But, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Firstly, Phoenix is not the type of actor to eye big blockbuster films. I mean, he did fake a retirement from acting, and claim to be a rising hip hop star to highlight Hollywood’s terrible mindset of reality television and celebrity. Secondly, Phoenix is rumored to be connected to Gus Van Sant’s newest film, Sea Of Trees, which would ignite conflicting shooting schedules.

While we will unfortunately have to wait to hear more about these casting rumors, the idea of Phoenix having the lead villain role in the film excites me greatly. For those who are unfamiliar with his acting chops, follow us after the jump.
